Don't forget the details

You spend countless hours and quite a few paychecks to put together the prefect invitations, choose the right favors, and try on dozens of shoes but somehow it all seems to get lost in the mix when it comes to pictures.

If you think about it, without each of those details, you’d be standing barefoot in an empty room. Each detail, no matter how small, attributes not only to the ambiance of the day but to your personality.. These pictures will make your wedding memories even more vivid when you look back 50 years from now.

The day of the wedding can be pretty hectic as you scramble around trying to prepare. It’s best to ask the maid of honor to gather these items for you so that the photographer has access when he or she arrives. this saves the photographer a lot of time, meaning you’ll have even more pictures of yourself getting ready! Unsure of which items to get together? You can always ask your photographer for an opinion, though my rule of thumb is if you paid for it, I’m taking a picture of it.

So since our first photo shoot back in February (well even before that I guess) we knew that we wanted to give you access to the behind the scenes and give you awesome videos to watch. Finally, we have our 'it's about details trailer' completed as well as the behind the scenes video of the 'Rocker Chic' photo shoot. We still have lots of other videos in the works! Some behind the scenes and some actual videos where we will give you advice, updates, etc.! Let us know what you would like to see. I'm personally video shy, but still very excited! Fashion Friday! - Lace it Up with Pearls

So we decided, here at it's about details, to start Fashion Friday! We will put together outfits you could wear to your bridal shower, bachelorette party, luncheon, wedding day, bridesmaids, or just running wedding errands! Most Fridays it will be about the lady's, but don't worry some Fridays Jason will put together great outfits for men too!

To start it off I put together a romantic and slightly trendy outfit that's all about the lace accented with lovely pearls. It's perfect for spring! You can easily wear this outfit to your bridal shower, luncheon, or even meeting with your vendors. This outfit is great and budget friendly too! The Raschel Knit Lace Dress is from Forever21 and is only $24.80. Wedding Day Emergency Kit

With so many details of a wedding, from the location to your dress, it's easy to over look a wedding day emergency kit. It doesn't need to be huge. You just need some basic essentials and a tote, or even a travel bag, to put it in. Here's a great list to get you started. Customize it to fit your possible needs. We will keep our fingers crossed that you won't need anything (but maybe a snack and a tissue for happy tears!).

·         Sewing Kit, Safety Pins, and Hem Tape

·         Bottle of Water and Straws (so you don’t ruin your make-up)

·         Snacks and Mints

·         Manicure Set

·         Tissues

·         First Aid Kit and Smelling Salts (alcohol wipes work too)

·         Spot Remover and Chalk (it covers up smudges and smears you  may get on you dress)

·         Aspirin (or other pain reliever), hand sanitizer, eye drops

·         Tampons and/or Pads

·         Tooth Brush, Floss, and Tooth Paste

·        Hairspray, Bobby Pins, Hair tie, and Brush

·        Make-up, mirror, tweezers, eyelash curler, deodorant, and perfume

·        Krazy glue and Tape

·        Extra earrings, stockings, handkerchief, umbrella, sandpaper for  shoe soles (no tripping!)

On April 11th, we have the privilege to cover a charity event, Let Them Eat Cake, in Philadelphia, www.cityofhope.org/cake. It is a wedding cake design competition and all the proceeds proceeds benefi t Women’s cancer research & treatment programs at City of Hope. If you're in the Philly area this event is a must! It's almost here!!

Behind the scenes Teaser! Spring photo shoot

This spring photo shoot was the easiest and, at the same time, the hardest. It was outside in the snow, wind, and cold. Our models still did a great job even though they were freezing in their adorable spring dresses and Jessica Kripp Photography got the shots we needed within an hour! Escort Cards!

Escort cards are a great way to add your personal touch. You can do almost anything you can think of. Here are some great ideas and inspiration.

"Candles and calligraphy made the escort card display extra elegant. Rose petals under the cards matched the color of the writing."

"Jenifer bought round stickers, printed guests’ names on each one and placed them on envelopes containing the table assignment inside. Vintage enamel flower pins made the display eye-catching."

"The couple used the same tan paper from the invitations and made rectangular cutouts for the escort cards. They decorated them with a custom heart monogram designed by the bride and then hung the cards around a big oak tree with twine and clothespins for a natural look."

"To honor Corey’s music-industry job, the couple named their tables after some of their favorite musicians. The escort cards were printed to look like concert tickets."

"Small Greek pitchers of olive oil doubled as the favors and the escort cards. Erin and Andy personalized each pitcher with a blue, geometric patterned label with their names and wedding date stamped on them."

Finally, while scouring on the Internet, Becci found a photo of Jones Soda bottles with the escort cards tied to them and fell in love with the idea. The soda doubled as an extra favor for guests."

Aisle Details!!!

There are so many important details of your wedding ceremony. Your vows, flowers, rings, programs, bubbles/birdseed/rose petals etc. Why should your aisle be any less important? After all this is where you walk to your Husband To Be! There are paper, fabric, and floral aisle runners. You can have your monogram, names, dates, different designs, pictures, and colors.
